A message to the community and visitors from the Chief of Police, Walter A. McNeil:

Chief McNeilWelcome to the Quincy Police Department; the largest municipality in Gadsden County, Florida.While our city is also one of the most rapidly growing and diversified cities in the county, our focus is not so much on size, but on quality, we are extremely proud of the caliber of men and women, sworn and civilian, who serve this community.

As reflected in our mission statement, we are committed to providing professional, efficient and courteous public service and creating a safe environment for those we serve. We proudly serve and protect our residents, businesses and visitors to our city.

We are reaching out to encourage greater citizen participation and collaboration in the delivery of police services to provide a safer environment and to address more quality of life “issues”. Chief Walter A. McNeil Sworn in as IACP President

The Florida Police Chiefs Association (FPCA) is proud to announce that one of “Florida’s Own”, Quincy Police Chief Walter McNeil, was sworn in as the President of the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) on October 26, 2011. The International Association of Chiefs of Police is the world's oldest and largest nonprofit membership organization of police executives, with over 20,000 members in over 100 different countries. IACP's leadership consists of the operating chief executives of international, federal, state and local agencies of all sizes.

Quincy Police Investigate Homicide

At 12:57AM Sunday morning The Quincy Police Department responded to a shooting incident in a parking lot across from 14 S. Adams St. The incident left one man dead after being life-flighted to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital.
